crazy concept and crazy visuals. weird and funny at times and very off-beat. i liked it, don’t know if i’d read the book but i enjoyed the film

127. John Dies at the End (2012, Don Coscarelli)

Two friends embark on a strange journey after taking a street drug known as “Soy Sauce.” Right from the beginning, it was definitely very weird, funny, and yet cerebral all at once. I’m all for originality, so I thought this was a solid film up until maybe the last 20 minutes. 

If you’re into bizarre films about creatures and traveling to other universes, you’ll probably enjoy this one.
